I just read something that said milk should not be consumed, or at least overconsumed, due to the relatively high sugar content. Is there any truth to this? If so, how much milk is it advisable to consume each day. I generally have around 3-4 glasses (approx. 8 oz)of skim milk each day.

Well, all the carbs in milk are sugar. But milk is so great a source of other nutrients, protein, etc., you should have it in your diet. The only time to really shy away from milk is if you are contest dieting, or just dieting extremely tight. On a normal diet, 3-4 glasses spread evenly throughout the day should be no problem, especially if you are having them with a meal or even a healthy sandwich. The GI of anything will be altered with the combination of foods contained.
