Here's a question for ya. I was sitting here pondering things. And it occured to me, I had sex today 30 minutes before I went to the gym, not that you guys need the visual, but anyways, I remember boxers and alot of other athletes refrain from sex before competition. How do you think that would affect one's performance, I mean the reducing of some of that testosterone.

I always thought they refrained from more than just sex. I thought they would refrain from being with their girlfriend or wife. You know how sometimes a woman can really affect your head upstairs and get you out of focus for the up coming fight.

There are a couple of threads in the mens forum that address this more specifically, but I think the consensus was that it is more of a mental thing than physical.

It could actually clear your head from daily things that happen during the day...when you go to the gym that stuff isn't on your mind....(it could even be your warmup lol)

Could be a good way to get a warm up.

yeah, theoretically it would be a great way to warm up. unfortunately, i always want to pass out right after. it would probably make a better work out than warm up. or, you can use it to help eachother stretch after a work out...now that's an idea.

Actually, a study was done on this. A group of researchers at the University of L'Aquila tested 80 men over three months. The more sex the men had, the higher their testosterone.
