The age old question (one of them). i am feamle. i work out often and gain muscle easily. I need to lose a few layers of fat. I have worked the diet out (low carbs)and now need to work on the "program". I have worked out with a lot of different guy friends and none seem to have one common belief in womens wprkouts.. some say gp heavy, girls do not get that big and others say low weight high reps. The latter seems more realistic to me b/c it has a aerobic component to it as well as the anaerobic. Does any one have advice???

Do what you feel comfortable doing. You have to make your muscles work hard in order for them to burn calories during repairation. NO, you will not get big, unless you are using illegal substances, but you will get a nice sculptured look. Whats wrong with that.

I guess I tend to mold what I do with whomeevr I am working out with. I love a nice curvy, toned body. I just KNOW my legs do get big when I life heavy. My quads and hammies get pretty big, toned but thick kind of. o do not want that I want smaller legs, but toned and I do not know if i find that with more cardio and little to no wieght!?

Lift heavy weights to shape the upper body and then do several sets with light weights (and tons of reps) for the lower part.
Don't "drown" your results away in doing too much cardio....

If you have a layer of fat covering your muscles, they will 'seem' to be thick until you get rid of the bodyfat. I am going through that now, but I'm not about to quit lifting heavy. The muscle is what speeds the metabolism and burns off the fat. I was stuck in the high reps/lower weight rut for 2 years with little progress. Good luck.
