My 9 year old son hurt his shoulder playing football. He stayed out a week and still experienced pain, so I took him to a doctor. The doctor did x-rays and examined him, the diagnosis was a deep shoulder bruise. He has recovered mostly, but seems to have a returning point of pain on the top of his shoulder. Does anyone have suggestions as to how I could better protect this one spot. I thought that a donut could be cut out of foam and taped in place under the shoulder pads. He has been wearing a skeleton, but that seems to lay right on top of the sore area. Thanks for any and all help.
Yeah, just make and extra little pad to go under his skeleton to spread out the point of impact a little bit farther. The donut idea is not a bad one, just make sure that the points that are hurt have plenty of padding over them.
