how long betwwen sets, exercises?

How long do i need to rest between sets? And how long do i need to wait before starting another exerxise? May be a stupid question, im waiting 2 min. between sets and 5 min between exercises.....

It really depends on your goals. Generally, 1-2 minutes between sets, and 3 minutes between exercises, is accepted for non-strength training lifting. However, if your are training for strength (heavy weights, low reps), 5 or more minutes between sets and 10 minutes between exercises is not uncommon.

I'm glad you said that rev. I have to keep reminding my hubby that when I get to my last set, I need more than a minute or I won't be able to get all 8 reps in. I've only noticed this since I've been lifting heavy. Before, 1 minute was plenty. We got in the habit of going right after each other when we first started working out together, but now the 45-60 seconds he takes to do his reps aren't a long enough of a rest for me. This is making our workouts longer some days too.
