Well, i usually eat about half a container (375 g) of cottage cheese a day, mixed with sugar to make it actually taste good, its a snack and supplies me with a quarter of my protein that i need for the day.
Im seriously thinking about eating one container a day, that is half my protein for the day in *1* meal, problem is, i dont know how this will affect my health, because, aside from protein, there isnt much in cottage cheese, jsut a littel bit of carbs and traces of other things. Q: was anyone tried this before here? and also, is it a good thing to get MOST of your protein from one source? Should I try to get more protein from other sources? (I also wat tuna and high protein cereals, soon will be taking whey). Thanks :) |

Cottage cheese is ok as a meal MAke sure it is the low fat.
Try and cut out the sugar, and add taier foods like fruits and/or vegetables to it. You can have this with a slice of grain bread, with some natural peanut butter and there you have a complete meal. Hope this helps. -------------- "A will finds a way" Ivan Montreal Canada |

Salsa is great with cottage cheese. Try using a packet of Equal or Splenda instead of sugar. With fruit you can try adding a few nuts for good fats (walnuts, pecans, almonds).-------------- ~Victoria~ ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

I mix my cottage cheese with vanilla yogurt and although it sounds kinda , it is actually very good, lowfat, and low sugar too. I eat quite a bit of that every day.-------------- Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. |

Does anybody know where you can buy low sodium cottage cheese in Toronto, Ontario.
I eat a lot of it in the course of a day and I find the salt makes me retain water. Would like to find a low sodium source. Thanks |

ufo, I have been able to get my local grocer to carry it, had to ask them. Sometimes the smaller stores (or health food stores) will do this on request - particularly if you will consume regularly.
I use celery sticks with cottage cheese in the evening, I try not to have fruit after dinner because of the sugars. |
