Menace: I have never used those bands from ironwoody before. If you are looking for a deal on the jumpstretch bands then go to www.elitefitnesssystems.com I use the jumpstretch bands and love them. I wouldn't even consider switching now because they are that good.

btw, how do u properly use the bands from elitefitness? Do you use just 1 or do u use 2 (1 for each side)....it seems like in the picture on the website, there's 1 band and it's stretched into a square...Also they don't state the resistance on the bands, instead they say how much a person should squat to use each band...which...doesn't really provide enough information...eh...each site with their own bs...

The bands from elite are the same bands from jumpstretch. Go to the jumpstretch website and find the chart they have on band poundage. Use elites guidelines for band use. Check out the articles on elite. There is one on bands and chains. Also check www.westside-barbell.com for an article on the bands.

Yesterday's dynamic effort box squat workout:
Box squats (no bands): had the tendo unit hooked up 416 x 2 x 8 Power readings: 941-1001 watts took 1-1.5 min TBS Depth drop to box jumps x 5 x 4 2 min TBS Speed RDLs with tendo unit hooked up. Perform RDLs as fast as I could with 225. I kept going until I had a total of 2 reps under 90% of my best rep on the Tendo unit. I did 3 sets with each one getting better. I did 11,12, & 15 reps respectively. Max wattage was a 941. Took 2 minutes between sets. 1st time I ever did RDLs like this. Back Hypers 100lb plate x 5 x 3 1 min TBS Physioball AB circuit Crunches x 30 Side crunch x 15/side Russian Twist x 20 2 rounds Went light on this because my abs were pretty taxed up from the workout. |

Wow, I've never considered doing RDL's as a dynamic movement. Was it awkard?

RDL's are great for dynamic stuff. Used those a lot this year. Tendo is a device that you hook up to the weights, it measures your speed and acceleration, and from that, you get your total power output. Its great for finding the best range for your DE work without all the guesswork and percentages.-------------- To have talent is to have limits. I have no talent therefor I have no limits. Yeah I just read about them on the Westside site. Sounds pretty awesome, but guesswork and percentages?-------------- I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious. --Vince Lombardi "Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. I was refering to the traditional method of finding a good weight for DE work. Basicly, using a percentage, and then figuring out what feels good. The tendo unit eliminates the need for this, as it can find a weight that will allow for ideal force production.-------------- To have talent is to have limits. The tendo unit measures power not force.

Good point. Force will be linear based on weight, while power is dependent on acceleration. Typo on my part. -------------- Iron and chalk. Pain is only temporary, it is in your mind. If you can still walk, then you can still run. |

Please help me. I am a 56 yr. old nurse with a back and neck injury. I also live in a motorhome so space is quite limited. I have some stretch bands that I would like to work with help tone and maybe do some shaping. But, I have not been able to find any exercies. Are there some that any of you could recommend. Thanks a lot.:)
