Maybe I will see him or even work with him. We work side by side with the Army at one of the check points on BIAP better known as Baghdad International Airport. Hope he is doing well. Also, I will be returning here, it is only a vacation in April, I have til October until I get to come home for good. :( But at least I get to come home and see my beautiful wife for 2 weeks. :love:

He was very brief in the information that he gave me last week. Well at least you will be back for two weeks and then for good in October. I think my boyfriend should be coming back in Aug. or Sept. :) Sorry could not be more specific I will be sure to ask him next time he calls.

When my husband was deployed overseas it was so lonely. . . however the 15 minutes watching the plane taxi in and waiting for him to finally get off was the longest and slowest of all the time! I wasnt sure whether or not to keep reading past the headlines when I saw that news. My stomach was in knots. I was pretty sure that he wouldnt have been in that area, but you never know. It wasnt his company, but they all know each other. He said everyone was pretty upset and of course now the talk is retaliation. He leaves Baghdad tomorrow with an overnight in Amman then will be on his way home. Hubby just called from Amman to let me know he is out of Iraq and on his way home. I will be picking him up in 38 hours....yippee!!! We will try to get on here a couple times to stay in touch, but Im not promising anything (wink). I've still got to go through BCT, but if my platoon is still over there when I get out I'll be shipped with them. My prayers are with everyone over there and I'll place a special one there for your hubby azred. I know I'll be worried about my dad but he has experience and will manage to keep himself and his platoon safe. azredhead57 Posts: 1,651 Joined: 2003/04/11	2004/04/20, 02:54 PM OMG Charlie I feel like I've been to a dress rehearsal for our cruise in Dec :laugh: We may not have rested quite as much as we wanted to, but we definitely didn't forget to eat. We had so much fun. It was like being on a vacation, but we got to sleep in our own bed at the end of each day. We went up to Sedona for a couple days and would you believe we ran into a guy that works with hubby at Baghdad Intl Airport who was also home on vacation. Small world. Unfortunately it had to come to an end. I saw him off again just a few hours ago for round 2. This time he gets to take vacation after just 3 months....woohoo!
