I'm new to this site as of about a week. I am starting my Exercise Program on Monday, 10-20-03. I was wondering if anyone else would be starting the same day and would like to help me in motivation and comparison. I feel it is easier to do these things if you have somebody to relate to. I am 22 yrs. old, 5'10", and weigh 205. If anybody is close and would like to compare results while taking this journey, please let me know. Thanks

Steve,
I'm starting around the same time as you, but we are pretty different. I'm 35, female, 231 and I'm the one who needs motivation.haha
I'm going to give it a try though and follow the excercises it listed for me to do. I'm sure I will not be able to do some of them, but oh well..in time I can improve and hopefully it will all come more naturally.
I have worked out in the past, with little to no results, but that was because I was not doing it correctly.
Hopefully I can take a lesson from my very motivated husband and keep it up for a while. I am getting older and I feel everything starting to sag a bit, and get even softer than it used to be.haha
I don't want to be a super model, I just want to be more fit to do my job for a long time and feel more energetic in the rest of my life. My goals are pretty simple, but the work will be just as hard as if I were trying to be a pro body builder.
The only motivation I can give you is this, don't think about it, just do it. I can sit here hours thinking I SHOULD be at the gym, when in reality all I have to do is get in the car, go do my work out and it's done for the day. No more mental torture.haha
Hope this helps.
Later

Hi Steve,
I just startted this site I don't know if it helps but I am 21 yrs,6'2 weigh 210 lbs I started working out 3yrs ago. Any way you will not be able to see result as weight lost because I never actually lost weigh but rdeuce my pant size by 4. Any ways it all depends on your workout again. If you do something thats fun it might keep ypu motivated and also when you do an exercise properly you might not be able to lift as some weight but you will see and fell better results.
Cheers

Consistency is the key!!! Once you get yourself (mind and body) in the habit of exercise the rest falls into place naturally. The trick in the begining is not to burn out! Don't push to hard and have fun with it. Some days you will have to fight lack of motivation but just remember "Anything is better than nothing so get off your ass and do something". Good luck.
