Yeah, he's the cubs fan that caught the ball and cost them the game.

Though I bet anyone in his place would have done the same. The way people reacted would make you think he shot Alou to get the ball.

I'd have to go with all of the above.
As far as Steve Bartman goes I think the Cubs organization should make a public apology to him & settle out of court, if I was him I would be sueing their a#&es off. I mean come on, trying to blame that guy for them not winning & going on to the world series, they havent been there in over 50 years or won it in over a hundred if I'm correct, maybe if Steve bartman would have drug his a#& out of the stands & hit a few homers for 'em they would have won too.
I think it's sad and pithetic for him to be used as a scape-goat but thats just my opinion.

Yeah, personally, I feel sorry for the kid. Geez, he was doing what we all dream of from kids on when we go to the ballpark. I have been to ballgames all my life, and have never come close to the opportunity to snag a baseball. I would have been watching that ball all the way too and not thinking of what was happening down below. There were alot of outstretched arms if you look at the replay, he just happened to be the one to get to it.

The way the Cubs came unraveled after that is their own fault. What, bring a relief pitcher in who has been heating up hard and ask him to walk two guys? And the bobbled play at shortstop? This is why the Cubs lost...besides the curse of the goat of course.

Hehe yeah, it's not his fault the cubs suck.... Just another "scapegoat". Next thing you know they will be blaming him for not making it to the world series for the last 50 years. Hehe.

No, he caught it. It looked like Alou would jump and catch it but Steve got it first. But because the ball was technically in the stands, it was not an interference.

The poor guy did not even catch it. It hit his hand but someone else ended up with the ball. Did you hear that some company in Florida offered him a three month vacation for free? They love him down there

People need to leave the kid (Bartman) alone. The Cubs need to put the blame where it belongs on themselves not on some poor fan (scapegoat) Afterall aren't the Cubs supposed to be professionals

Living in Illinois, listening to the Cub fans complain, and place blame; has been very interesting to say the least. Cub fans are oblivious to the Error that was made by the shortstop, and the bad throw that Sosa made. Poor kid! He should take a trip to Florida; maybe we can get Gatormade to put him on a 3 month training program..Maybe not; THAT IN ITSELF WOULD PROBABLY KILL HIM!!!

Tough question, but I would have to go with "A"...
