I workout alone due to where I work. I therefor have no one to spot me on barbell bench. Am I sacrificing huge muscle mass gains by doing my bench exercises with dumbbells? I would expect that I am sacrificing some gains but how much?

No, dumbbell benches are excellent. You have great control over the range of motion. I do them right now exclusively myself. They are a great exercise, but push yourself of course.
