Supplements can be a great aid with your health and fitness goals. Combined with the proper exercise and nutritional plan they can be quite effective.

Hi, ive been working out for a year now and i havent yet taken any supplements. Im 5'11 and weigh 143lbs. My goals are to get big and then toned. The other day i thought about using protein shakes, but didnt know if it was worth it. So i have a few questions to ask.

1: How long till I can notice results?
2: When is the best time i should use it?
3: Are there any side affects?
4: And what other supplements to you recommend to achieve my goals?

The protein will help repair muscle tissue and feed them. Usually one will take protein within 30 minutes after the workout, and thier are no side effects. You might want to consider eating more good food also. The best way is naturally from chicken eggs, fish, lentils.
Whats your calorie intake like?

I think bb1 needs to write a post about the proper use of protein powders as a supplement. A lot of newcomers seem to be under the misconception that just drinking a protein shake or adding one to your meal plan will give you muscles. Carivan touched on it, but I have seen this question a lot lately. "Will protein shakes give me bigger muscles?"
