Congratulations and welcome to FT. There is a lot of good advice in the forums here. Wverything you need to know about weight training and eating right. Start with filling out your profile, using the nutirtion program to get your basic caloric need, pick one of the programs for weight loss and get started. Diet is key, eating right and the right foods makes all the difference. You will probably need to incorporate quite a bit of cardio at first, if the 65lb loss is required by the Navy. Do you have to go to boot, like regular Navy?

Yes, it's possible to lose this much weight (it's about 3 pounds per week). While you are successful in adopting a workout plan, you've got to be more disciplined with the diet...that's over half the battle. Without a sound diet, you will not achieve your goal.
Stay motivated and stay focused. Good luck!
