Recovery Work

I took last week off from lifting so my body would grow and recover from the past training cycle. I did light work outside of the weight room to aid that process. I did light med ball throws twice for 15 minutes last week (tue/thurs). On friday I performed half of a Navy Seal body weight circuit. It was awesome! This week I feel really good and ready to get after it for another 7 weeks.

Today I will perform explosive underhand medball tosses for 15 minutes with a partner. The toss should be as high and as far as possible. We usually get between 100-140 tosses in 15 minutes depending on how our legs feel from the nights previous workout.

Yes, that's what the auxiliary lifts are for.

I also use my recovery work as a way to improve weak points. Every 3-4 weeks I change exercises out and replace them with ones that will bring up my weak points. If you look at my workouts posted here you can see how I implement the auxiliary work.

The day after my last Dynamic Box Squat workout I sat in the cold tank up to my neck for 20 minutes and my body felt great after that. I was extremely sore before my venture into the cold tank.

I have been using the vertimax for my jump training and I have found this to be good recovery work the day after squatting.

I go into our swim x here at Florida and perform sprints and sprint mechanics in it a day after the leg work. Feels good. I also sit in a cold tank up to my neck after a leg workout.
