Hello all,
I'm 45, 5'11" and 180 lbs. (Give or take). I quit smoking three years ago and went on the ice cream diet to get over the rough spots. When I stopped gaining, I weighed about 200 lbs. The worst part was my cholesterol was out of control. Anyway, to make a long story short, I started excercising and eating right about two years ago. I ride a stationary bike for twenty minutes, four times a week. I also do some light resistance training three times a week and do crunches for my middle every time I work out.
During this time I've notice that I've been toning up everywhere but in my "gut" region. I've been eating around 1500 calories a day. I watch the fats, because of my cholesterol, but I'm getting nowhere with my middle. Any suggestions?

myoung the mantra here is graet abs are made in the kitchen. It sounds like your calories may be too low. Have you tried one of the ft workouts? Have you looked at the nutritional info available here? If you will take the time to input your info into the profile section and then pick a routine, it will give you a nutritional program to follow. Most folks are shocked to realize how much you need to eat to lose inches and tone up. Notice I said lose inches and not weight.
Do a search on fit budy on abs training and a few searches in the nutritional realm. there are volumes in the sight on this subject. I saw my abs for the first time in 30 years just about 2 months ago after following these routines for about 8 months. I also took a 2 month break to recover from rotator cuff surgery.
The profile will help the folks here help you
Good luck, Charlie
-------------- I live in my own little world. But its ok. They know me here.
