The past 2 weeks or so I have noticed my mid morning banana gives me heartburn. I love bananas, and don't want to not eat them, but I don't know why this is happening.

Make sure you only eat the very yellow ones;
Yeah I know they dont look to good, but the green ones just aint ripe and will be hard to digest.

Bananas always gave my dad heartburn too. Keep the tums handy!

Drink a glass of milk with your banana when you eat it. That'll help with the heartburn. If not then yeah you probably are eating them too green.

If you buy them green ... take one each day and put it on the counter above your dishwasher when you run the dishes ... the steam and heat that comes up from under the counter will help to soften it up and ripen it a little. Just keep the others away from the heat though and they'll stay fresh 'till you get ready to eat them. :)
