I have been tracking my intake rather well over the past few weeks, and the one thing i can never fufill is my protein intake. according to my ft nutrition profile, i should be getting 160g each day.
firstly, is that too high, as i don't really want to bulk up on muscle, but lose fat and tone the muscle i have?
secondly, should i start taking a protein supplement each day?
with taking the protein supplement, can i be sure there is no peanut by-product in the powders? i have tried bars that did not list peanuts as an ingredient or in the allegry section, yet still contained some trace amounts, as i had a severe allergic reaction to them.
thank you so much for your help.

Regardless of what you are trying to do with your body, protien intake at your body weight in grams is a must in order to maintain lean muscle. Maintaining lean muscle will help you lose stubborn fat. Yes, there are protien powders out there without any trace of peanuts. If you are not able to get the protien you need during the course of the day, a protien shake is the way to go (mix with water, not milk if you're trying to lose weight). There's so much more to it than the info I just gave you, but its a start. Good luck!!!
