Search the boards you will see many success stories. I've lost tons of weight, brought my blood pressure under control (after 24 years), lowered my cholesterol to pretty much optimum, feel pretty darn good considering the way I abused myself in my 'prvious life'. I'm setting down new goals as I write and looking forward to getting to them. Of course, that's just me but there are many just like it here at ft.

Mine and agambles story are very similar. I've abused myself in past lives and managed to reduce cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugars and lose a little weight but a lot of inches here. I've also put on some of the good inches too.
-------------- I live in my own little world. But its ok. They know me here.

Hello Kevin B,
Welcome to FT.com and congratulations on starting your new fitness program. After you have taken your first positive step of filling in your profile, you could then post onto this very site to see if anyone wants to start an online competition. First of all you find someone who not only is the same sex as you but also is starting from the same place, AND has the same goals as yourself. You then work out between yourselves how soon you can realistically get there in the shortest time.
For example:- Lets say you and a like minded guy wanted to lose the same amount of weight and be a certain trouser size in lets say, 6 weeks. If you wanted you could take measurements and how much you weigh, write it down then write down where you both want to be 6 weeks from now.(exchange figures with each other so you know what you are up against) It would be kind of a race. You check with each other on a weekly basis (or when you feel you can) to see who has lost what weight or gained what shape. Its kind of a friendly challenge to keep you on track. If you want to make it more interesting then that’s up to you. There’s no hard or fast rules, it’s a bit of a challenge to keep your motivation up.
All the Best
Warmly
Chance Dog
