To make my story short. In june i got in a bad car accident, and they couldnt figure out what it was at first and they thought it was An ACL Tear, so for the time being until my surgery in August they had be basically bedridden. Anyways things didnt get better and on the 29th of october i got my second surgery on my leg. To get the real point I used to dance and play sports and i had a nice body, and now it's been like 5 months without a whole lot of exercise since i am on crutches. And When i go to the gym i am just kinda winging it. I want a really nice stomach but am not sure how to go about it. Could someone help me, i tried the abdominal program, but the chart doesnt say how many reps i am supposed to do, and the weight i am supposed to use. If anyone could help me i would really apprecaite it.

Good morning austinsgrl - it sounds like it's only been a week or so since your sugery and folks might be a little hesitant to advise you what to do. Your doctor should have advised you or referred you for physical therapy. They often don't if the patient doesn't ask but my recommendation is to see what your limitations are.

I agree with Mike on this. I've had a few back surgeries and I know the importance of proper Physical Therapy. It can make all of the difference. Anyway, I hope you continue to recover. Good Luck

austinsgrl12 you should definitely get PT! You'll love it! hehehe I went in after a car accident for PT I think like a month or two. Don't remember exactly how long, that was 13 (OH MY GOD IM GETTING OLD LOL) years ago. I was down town cruising looking for my friends on my 18th birthday, July 4, 1989 and got hit by this girl that was turned around waving to her friends. I didn't even feel like I was hurt at the time but I got a little stiff a day or two later. They sent me to PT and OH MAN it felt great! hehehe Heated towels, backrubs, etc. It's like a free day at the spa! lol

Hey wait! Can I go with you?

Thanks for your advice guys, but i have been in PT since July, right before my first surgery. As of right now they are not sure when i will be able to walk again, and i fear that i am becoming undersirable to my bf. I know that it is superficial in the sense that i am still alive after my accident so i should be completly focused on walking, but there is another emotional part that overweighs just not being able to walk. I think that it is hard for me to do my best A. with the fact that it is taking so long to get better, which in sense has me sometimes wanting to give u and B i no longer feel asthetically pleasing, which as shallow as it is, is important. I hope that you dont take this as a lot of shallow little girl whining, but i want my body back. I want to walk and run and look good, not only for my boyfriend but mostly for myself. Any help you guys could give me would be really appreciated. Thanks again for your prompt responses.

I hope you heal soon; keep in mind that your tummy will make you happiest on the OUTSIDE by controlling your diet (contrary to it's INSIDE happiness) and your abs, whatever level those small muscles are built up to, will show. Flat or six-pack beats flab anyday. Count your calories and avoid late-night carbs. Understand your RMR and the fact that you can't be burning alot of daily calories in your condition, then adjust your diet. You don't need luck, use science.

Thanks for the help guys. I was wondering if anyone had hear this idea that caffine helps store fat. What kinds of food should i be eating, when i cant do any cardio? Do i want more protein? what foods will make me leaner, where can a find a site that will give me an idea of what exactly to eat, i work better when i have complete instructions, i dont do to well with just a list of things i can eat. I think that a better stomach as well as overall health will make life better and more enjoyable. thanks a lot for your help. I have been feeling pretty alone on this whole thing.
