I am a college student living alone. Any quick, easy, healthy recipes that will help me lose weight?

Hi Im a 33 Aussie guy who lives alone and is battling to lose weight and define my body. I also love cooking here is a healthy and hearty soup that is very low in carbo's and can be eaten as a meal or snack and bulked up with protein. It has been very popular here in Oz (Australia) being dubbed the Kick Start Diet. By making up a huge pot it should last you a week in the fridge or you could freeze some of it. Anyway here it is:

1 cabbage
1/2 (half) bunch of celery
6 carots
2 green peppers
4 onions
2 large tins of crushed/diced tomato
1 pkt of french onion soup mix
1 lt or pint of chicken stock
1 lt or pint of water
garlic if you want
chilli if you want
salt and pepper

Put it all in a large stock pot bring to the boil...and reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 1 hour.

When cooled enough you can put it through a blender to make it smooth...or if you have cut all the ingredients up finely you can have it chunky....

What I do is have it as it is....some times I fry chicken breast or thigh (skinless) and cut it up and put it in the soup....some time a steak cut into strips....I add different herbs such as corianda, basal, mint to give it a lift in taste....you could even add fish cut up into small bits.....I have lost almost 14lbs on this...while exercisingand eating other healthy foods....

All I can suggest is you stay away from Carbos....and also do cardio exercise....it works for me.

Cheers

Brendan
