Ok, I'm not good at introductions but I will give it a try... I'm a 29 year old male, 6'1" tall and I weigh 255 lbs.
My goal (initially) is to lose weight. I, personally, would like to lose 60 lbs but everyone I have told that thinks that I would look sick if I lost that much weight since I have a medium to large build. I'll deal with that when the time comes. My "true" goal is to be and look healthy.
My real reason for this post is to ask questions, so I hope this is the proper place to do so:
1. A few months ago, I was a member of EDiets, but I felt that it was geared more for women than men and I personally believe that men and women have differeces in fitness requirements, motivating factors, diets, etc. Do you feel that this site is geared more for men or women, or is there a pretty even mix?
2. I am not a body builder and don't really want to be one. Does this program offer something for the fitness-minded person who only wants to lose weight, tone and build muscle without going to the extreme?
3. What benefits would upgrading to Pro have for me?
4. My Apartment Complex has a small gym with a weight machine, (2) treadmills and a stair-stepper. Will this be sufficient for my exercise needs or should I join a gym? The last time I belonged to a gym, I didn't go for 2 years of the 3 year contract. I have found one that I can pay month-to-month and it is a lot closer to my home.
When I was on EDiets, I did lose 12 lbs. in about a week--but that was mainly from cutting out sodas, watching what I eat and drinking lots of water. I never really got into their exercise plan which I know is a problem for me because I have a busy schedule.
Ok, I will stop rambling on... I appreciate any advice and encouragement that you can give.
Take care,
Michael
