I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think is the ultimate diet plan. At this moment i am on crutches and am not able to do cardio work, and as someone relpied earlier the only way for me to lose weight is to change my eating habits. In gyms they offer gatorade as a replenishing drink, but will the sugar make me gain weight instead of lose. A trainer at the gym said that i want to limit my meals as well as spread them out. Do they need to be at the same time every day? At the gym there are pills that supposibly help you lose weight, but they have caffine in them, i also heard that caffine helps your body store fat, does anyone know if that is true? Sorry i am kinda bouncing all over but i have a million and one questions. I've noticed that since i have been working out on my stomach it has been getting harder, but the muscle seems to be pushing my love handles out, so instead of getting thinner it feels like i am getting fatter, will that go away once i can do cardio? will the muscle stay and will the fat melt off? When i am doing weights, do i do a few at a high weight, or do i do a lot at a less heavy weight? if anyone could answer any of these questions i would be really, really greatful.

First off, glad to hear you're up and out of bed. Hope you are healing nicely and feeling better. I'm not a big fan of diet plans except for eating good, clean, nutitious foods with the proper ratios of p/c/f. However, that's just me and many diets have worked wonders for other people. For me the most important factor in my diet besides proper ratio of macros has been eating more often (usually 5-6 smaller meals per day). In that way my body is not forced to 'store' anything. I would say then that the ultimate diet would be one that meets the following criteria 1) one you can implement 2) one you can live with 3) one that gives you the results you want 4)one that promotes good health. That's just my opinion. There was a discussion about coffee on another board. Depends on how much gatorade you drink. Yes once you begin cardio that fat should begin to drop. As far as weight goes, depends on your goals. Most go for higher weight lower reps. Good Luck.

the muscle will stay providing your diet is correct. Without proper p/c/f, the muscle will most likely go before the fat. Don't be fooled by cardio will just burn the fat. That is absurd.
Have your gatorade after training, but you MUST have protein with it so your working muscles will get nutrient uptake. Otherwise, gatorade is simply an insulin surge, adn not near the benefit without protein. too much will most definitely lead to fat accumulation also. Stay with as heavy a weights as you can use, this will not cause muscle atrophy. Your body will adapt to the loads you are using, and if you drop weights significantly for higher reps, your body will sense it does not need as much muscle mass as it had, and drop some. Muscle is an unatural thing for the body to have(extra), as it needs to be maintained, etc. So, it will drop muscle quickly if it senses no need for it. Your body is programmed for survival, which is is fat storage. It would rather keep its fat than muscle. Muscle is easily cannabalized for glycogen.
-------------- Great people never want it easier, they just want to be better!
