Hey Everyone...
I've got a particular situation and I need some help dealing with it.
I'm planning on joining a gym within the next week or so. Problem is...it's mostly a gay crowd. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against anyone being gay. Heck, I'm also gay. It's just that I'm going to feel like it's a "Meat-market". Everyone checking everyone else out. Maybe I'm being paranoid. Maybe not. Who knows. All I know is that I'm a very shy guy. Heck, it's taking alot for me to finally decide to go to a gym. But let's face it, gay guys check out other guys. Can any one help me get over this, obviously silly, shyness? I know that I shouldn't think like this, but I can't help it.

Hi kk81
Well I guess it would be like any other gym gay or not. There are people there that use it as a social thing and then therE are people (most of them) there to do exactly what you are doing there, you know bettering your self! So do like I was told to do.... Just go and work out you WILL meet people there who are just like you..they just want to work out! I hope this helps but the only way to get over this is to JUST DO IT!!!! GOOD LUCK

Thanks Atrueldai.
Makes sense. Easy enough. I just have to set my mind to worry about myself and not about what other people are doing around me. It's time to grab the Bull by the wankers! hehehe

Don't worry about it. Concentrate on your workout and you'll be ok.

I've actually been searching for a lesbian gym if somebody could just nod me in that direction...

kk, I go to a 'gay' gym which is a little further away then the 'straight' gym by my house (they are both owned by the same company). The 'straight' gym is bigger, has more equipment, a pool and an indoor track but it's such a meat market, it even has dim lights! The 'gay' gym is so much better in the sense that people there go to work out and not socialize as much.
So, it really doesn't matter if the clientele is mostly straight or gay.
You should see about getting a guest pass at both gyms so you can see for yourself which one you feel more comfortable in.

Ok Ok....I found out that they are opening a meat market next to my gym! I guess there will be lots of lean cuts in there! (Just couldn't resist)!
