Hey guys and gals. Im currently on the BFL program, which is a great nutritional guide, but the workout routine seems to be lacking (I feel like I could do sooooooo much more that what the book reccomends). So I plan on changing my routine but I have a few questions (bbfit1 hope your reading) :

My reasoning is as follows, if I can figure out how many days it takes to heal each of my major body groups I can assign that group a virtual "days needed to rest" number. Then I assign atleast 4 exercises to that body group and roatate out those 4 exercises to that body group when the "rest days" have expired. This way, I never overwork a muscle and I keep my body guessing by throwing random exercises at it.

Is this flawed logic?? Any benificial / detrimental side effects to this?

Secondly, although I know everyone is different, I wanted to know if there was a general concenses for how many days a muscle group needs to rest before it is ready to be worked again. Ill list them individually if you guys care to help me out.

Pecs
Lats
Traps
Triceps
Biceps
Shoulders
Abs
Quads
Hams

Finally, if you guys have any other reccomendations on this I would love to hear them.

As far as rest for each muscle group everyone recovers differently. That being said, The muscles you use the most will recover the fastest. Basically this would be legs abs and back. You can't do much of anything without them. These for many can be worked out more than once a week.

The FT programs have you working out the other groups as primary once a week. Nearly every group gets hit more than once a week secondarily as a result of some other exercise.. Make sense? Listen to what your body says to you.
