I have noticed a lot of people talking about tuna. Sounds like it is a pretty popular health food. I have never thought of it as a health food. I myself love it, too. I eat a tun of it. Is it really healthy for you?

Hiya total, good to see you back. Tuna is low fat and high protein. Great stuff but be careful what you eat with it. A can of tuna and 3 tablespoons of mayo will defeat the benefits.

Quoting from total_idiot99:

Is it really healthy for you?
=============

I believe this thread deviated from the original question, so..it is a healthy food, it's a fish that contains good oils and fats to keep you healthy and an ample amount of protein to keep you from totally catabalizing your hard earned muscle...maybe some guys like bb1fit can tell ya some more stuff that's just what i remember off the top of my head....i hope some of this helps...as for me, i like mine plain on 7grain bread...mmmmmm....

There are some interesting studies being investigated about the possibility of mercury contamination in tuna. At first it was rarely mentioned but now I believe it is becoming more common to hear about it. After all I don't want to become a human thermometer.

I like the albacore. Doesn't seem to taste as fishy. Hey bicep, have you tried the Tuna sensations. You know the flavored kind?

The albacore has less of a chance of containing toxic levels of mercury as it is a much smaller species.

Mercury poisoning!? Ack! Ick! Gaahhhbleerrgggg...*Dies*

Hehe. I guess the mercury levels in tuna are getting worse with the increasing polution in the oceans. I am not sure how much of a problem it is for people right now, but it can't be that bad. I mean I bet everyone here eats about one can a day.

I love Tuna! Chunk light or white in water. Helps me get through my protein cravings!
