Please do a search for this info, as well as go to this thread:

http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/pro/Message.jsp?f_ix=13&t_ix=1367.

This product has been discussed ad nauseum on this board...

Here's the post. Also, do a search for even more info:

"I took NOX3 by Universal for a one month cycle, kinda making myself a guinea pig. It's ingredients are as follows: Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate; Arginine Ketoisocaproate; and Ornithine Alpha-Ketoglutarate. As you can see, it's a little different than some of the other NO products out there. Here is my conclusion:
These 3 products have, in the past, been shown as pretty decent anti-catabolic and recovery compounds, but, up until recently, have been pretty expensive to consume in sufficient quanities. Personally, I experienced better and faster recovery after severe workouts, as well as quicker rebounds in between training days. However, I do have a problem with the "vasodialation" claims.

Companies state that by dialating blood vessels using an NO product, it allows more blood to travel to muscle tissue, thereby giving someone the claimed 'perpetual pump.' The problem with this is this - an increase in vasodialation correlates with a decrease in blood pressure, resulting from a decrease in blood volume (i.e., there is not enough available blood to fill the new space made by the dialation - simple physics: a increase in space is a decrease in pressure). Therefore, because of the pressure drop, less blood is being pushed through the arteries. A vasoconstrictor, such as ephedrine, increases blood pressure by narrowing the blood vessels.

My conclusion: if you are looking for a very good post-workout recovery product, and you have the extra cash to blow, give it a shot; it'll probably help. I like the NOX3 because it had O-AKG, and was alot cheaper than some of the other brands I researched. Forget about the perpetual pump crap."

Hope that helps.........

Thanks rev8ball, thats exactly what i wanted to hear. Would this effect a 14 year old? I been lifting for almost 3 years now and have hit a kick-ass plateau and need that little push over it. I use nothing so far. Also looking into Animal Pak?

At your age, you don't need any supplements. With what you body's pumping out, supplements will have little or no effect. If you have hit a plateau, change your training and/or diet. Your body will respond in kind.
