I wanna work on my chest areas, especially inner-chest, any suggestions? I heard that the dumbbell flyers is the closest to target the inner chest area but one problem.... I don't have a bench. All I have is a set of dumbells and the place I'm living right now is kind a small... Can I do that particular exercise on the floor with an exercise mat? That would hinder me from lowering my arms though.... Any suggestions? Thank's in advance.

The floor is ok, but if you can get one of those exercise balls, it is even beter, and ddoesn't take alot of space. Not too expensive either.

Thx for the info charlie826 and carivan! So the floor is ok.. I was kind a skeptical about it coz the floor limits you from doing a full motion.... As for the exercise ball, I'll go and check that out. In the meantime, are there any other dumbbell exercise working on the chest area, (especially the inner chest) that you or anyone of you can recommend here? I don't have a bench btw.... Once again, great people, great community and really appreciate for the advice!

Try 1 1/2's and hold the contraction for your inner chest area. These are very simply done, and very effective. Simply do a fly as you normally would, come up to a not quite full contraction, (where the dumbbells don't touch, about 6 inches apart...this is actually full contraction, touching the dumbbells actually is too far and takes the tension off the inner chest area), then bring the dumbbells down only halfway, then back up to the peak contraction(6 in. apart) and hold for a count of 20-30 while squeezing. This is one rep. Then bring the weights down, and start the next one. Do sets of 10-12 of these.

Thx for the method bb1fit-san =) I gave it a try and I dunno how to distinquish whther I'm doing it right or not coz I don't feel too much muscle pain on the inner chest afterwards. Since it's my first attempt on doing that particular weight training, should't there be some minor muscle pain in my inner chest after the training? Or is due to that I am working on the floor and it sort of hinder my movements? Any ides anyone? Btw, I can only do the exercise on the floor.... Anymore suggestions on how to work the inner chest area? Thx in advance!

Soreness is normal. It will get better. There is a sport consignment shop here in my town . I picked up decent equipment cheap. A used bench may be available in your local paper, online .

On the floor you should be able to do flyes, presses, tricep extensions. I'm gonna try BB1's 1 1/2s today. Just about anything he reccommends will be right on.
