Currently I'm 230 lbs and I want to get back to 170-180lbs. My only problem is diet. Because of work I usually have a rushed lunch or have to go quickly. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what to eat during lunch that will not cause me to cain weight

Thanks

A lot of us here have come to the conclusion that the best way to meet nutritional needs is to pack a lunch. There isn't much out there in the realm of fast food. It takes a little planning and effort but once you make the switch it becomes actually more convienient. As you probably know to lose weight one of the things you need to do is speed up your metabolism. Eating 4 to 6 small nutritionally correct is the best way to do this. You can't really go out to eat 2 or 3 times a day. Bagging lunch is a good way to meet your needs.

Welcome to FT and good luck.

Here's a very rough example:

Meal #1: Oatmeal with egg whites and fruit
Meal #2: Protein shake, nuts or peanut butter
Meal #3: Chicken breast with vegetables
Meal #4: Same as #2 with soy milk or post-workout shake (if you workout in the afternoon)
Meal #5: Salmon or steak with vegetables
Meal #6: Same as #2 or yogurt or cottage cheese

The idea here is to limit your carb. intake while increasing your protein. Also notice that the protein comes from a variety of sources. This is a very rough example, and may not be suitable for you based on your weight, goal, etc. But hopefully you get the idea...

I am probably not the best example of what to do diet wise.
But...
1st meal shake w/1 cup oatmeal , 1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa, 3 tsp splenda, 4 egg whites 6 oz 1% milk ice.

2nd meal tuna sandwitch on wholewheat sugarfree bread. tuna mixed w/ mustard and eggwhite no mayo.

3rd meal lean deli meat sandwich w/ 1/2 cup cottage cheeze

4th meal post workout shake

5th meal lean meat or fish, salad
veges and brown or fiberous carbs.

6th meal shake w/ 6 oz. 1% skim milk, 4 eggwhites sometimes protein.

I usually have a V8 and fruit snack at some point.

This is just me though. I am a bit of a finiky eater and there are people here who can better advise you on nutrition. Search the boards on the diet thing. We eat differently on the weekends and I usually have one bad meal like pizza per week. Sweets are my biggest problem and I just don't do them any more.

Hope this helps.
