Many have done this. It is a great way to to get started, to discipline yourself for diet and training. My wife did this, and she has been bodybuilding ever since. They want you to use their supplements, and in the end you have to fill out a form and include supplements used, but even if you don't want to do this, just following the diet and training will yeild some great results for you.

I lost 20 lbs in my first Challenge a couple years ago. First of all - if you want to do the challenge - get the book! The main point of the book is some serious motivation! It's great!
As far as suppliments, I didn't use them at all. If you want to actually send in your pictures to the challenge - you have to buy *something* EAS - just get a thing of protein powder to use or something like that. You only need to technically buy *one* of their products - so it's not a big deal. They have lists of food in there (same as the lists on here) - that show healthy things, and you can make your 6 meals a day with those, and not use the shakes.
Good luck! YOu can email me if you want to chat more about it!

Although you cannot use other company products in conjunction with EAS products. You must use only EAS products, even if it is just one thing.
