I am 5'4" and weigh 116. I am 36 years old and look really good. My measurements are 36, 24, 35. I don't work out to lose weight, I work out to keep my body toned up, which is looking really good. I have been working out for over 6 months. My problem is my stomach. I have had 3 babies and even though there is not alot of flab I still can't get rid of it all. I have toned abs but the little bit of hanging flab is there. Every part of my body is firm except that one area. Is there anything else to do that can help get rid of this extra bit of belly?

No matter what you hear, beware of the spot reduction myth. Also, countless sit ups won't help either. What will help- stick with it. The abs and stomach can be one of the most difficult parts of the body to lose fat off of and tone, but they will come with time, slowly, but if you have the patience, it will be worth it. Good luck halfpint.

halfpint I agree with Wrestler, even though you may think you are in great shape that is not always the case. Lets take an analogy, such as a car. It may look good on the outside, but if the motor has a problem area, it will eventually break down. You need to keep in in great running order. maintain your whole body like you would your car. (hopefully you maintain your car well) LOL.

xafo, my before and after pic would look the same. I am not or have ever been overweight a day in my life. LOL I weigh 116 and have for the past couple of years. The most I ever weighed was 148 and then I was nine months pregnant. I was just wanting to know how to firm up the "stretched" (if you will)skin is all. Everyhwere else is just what I want to be in looks. I'm getting more defined muscles in all other areas EXCEPT the abs. Maybe it is something that exercise cannot cure.

Halfpint, are you forum dyslexic? Why don't you ask this in the female forum??

Well, excuse me charlie I didn't realize I had to be in the correct forum to ask. I was in the new members forum and since I was a new member this is what my question was. Sorry I didn't get it in the "RIGHT" one.
My feelings have been hurt and I will no longer ask questions or comment. Good Bye.

Halfpint, no need to punish yourself because someone hurt your feelings. You should continue to post and gain knowledge. For the record I think Charlie was out of line.

Chill, charlie.

halfpint - don't worry about that. I'm glad that you posted the question in a "wrong" forum than not asking it at all. The only thing that really bothers us here are the individuals who post the identical question in 10 different threads all at the same time!

Halfpint, I was only playing with you. I would not intentionally hurt your feelings. I apologize.

No big, charlie. It wasn't so much the content of the post that was considered inappropriate, as much as how the tone was perceived as harsh. That's the biggest problem with typing messages: one can never hear voice inflections or read body language. But I think everyone is on the same page now. Thanks for your understanding...

Michael, I had just read your post about agnostic dyslexic and halpints blond post. It seemed appropriate and funny at the time. Never any offense intended. I only unload on percieved spammers.

Okay Charlie, I forgive you. Rev is right, it was not so much as what you said as to how I thought you were saying it. Forgive me for wearing my feelings on my shoulders????
