I just wanted to introduce my self!
I was also wondering if there is any way that you guys know of to further personalize my workout. For example, my home gym has some machines, but not all. I would like to utilize the ones I have, so the home workout isn't as good. But do not have some of the machines for the other work outs. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you!

What do you have as far as equipment? (exercise equipment that is) List what you have and we'll give it a go.

I am horrible with names of machines...but i'll give it a go...i have a treadmill, a stationary bike, a elliptical machine, an ab machine, free weights, a laying down squat machine, leg extension machine, and the opposite one where you push down, a machine that you sit up straight and kind of bench press, and a machine that you sit up straight and push up, and a pulldown machine. What do you think?

Kristen, I am in the same boat you are. Got some machines and don't have others. You can;
1 Set up your workout, print it and then look in the exercise resources section of FT and swap the machine movements you don't have for the ones you do. Then copy them onto your printout.
2 With the FT pro membership you can swap exercises before you print them.
I don't know why its that way but the membership was well worth it to me for that and many other reasons.
Good luck and welcome

Charlie is right on. With what you have you are in pretty good shape. It may take awhile but you just look at each exercise and determine which muscle it is working and the movement used. Then try to match it as close as possible with what you have. Free weights can be used for almost all muscles. Check exercise resources here or try exrx.net. I envy you with your cardio equipment. I would use every piece on a rotating basis.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. I don't actually own the equipment. It's at my apartment complex. It's great though because it completely free and open 24 hours! Thanks again!

Wow a free gym. I'm jealous! Just do as the others said, do some swaps etc, and you will have a pretty good workout. You can have an effective workout with the free weights for the upper body, and the leg extension , leg curl machine for lower body. Add some standing calf raises to that and there you have a good workout. For the cardio, start off with the treadmill and walk for 20 min at about 3.5 mph.
Let us know how you do with your equipment, ok?
BTW, welcome to freetrainers.

Thank you guys very much for the great hints. I had one more question. What do you think about ab balls? There isn't anything on here about them. Should I use that for ab exercises or just stick to the work-out that is given to me?
