Hey marisa, do me a favor and fill out your profile. I would like to know more about you so that I and others can help you out. I will say this-unless you are VERY short you can't be THAT big. But then I don't know anything about you. How bout that profile. I promise that you can be given some solid steps to take and I will post here as soon as possible.

First of all you haveto eat to lose weight. When you don't eat, your motabolism slows down and your body tries to keep what it has.
Second, you have to eat the right foods. Try eating 5-6 smaller meals a day. Your food tracker will tell you how many calories you should be eating. Make sure to eat very little fat. Add vegetables and fruits to diet. -------------- It's not what we eat or drink occasionally, but what we consume on a daily basis that determines our ongoing level o health. formerfatguy.com Not sure of author |

Hello marisa, first off let me say that at 4'11 135 lbs you are not THAT overweight. I will agree with you that you are overweight but you are not as bad off as you may think. Enough about that. Don't be discouraged, you have plenty of time to slim down before Summer. Lets take a healthy weight loss of 1 1/2-2 lbs per week, 15 weeks till May. Very doable if you put your mind (and muscles) to it and get started now. One thing that you need to do is realize that food is not necessarily your enemy. That is a faulty perception. Food can actually help you lose weight if you choose the right foods and structure your diet right. For long-term weight loss you also need to build some muscle. I am not talking about huge arms but a good foundation of muscle. This will not only give you a nice shapely figure but will increase your metabolism as well. If this sounds good, take a good look at your diet and give us here an idea of what, how much, and when you eat. From there we can continue with some good suggestions like those began by shavondebrown. Hope to hear from you soon.

herss omthing that i was told.....1st of all eat.....if u don't eat then ur body thinks its starving, so when u do eat, whats your body gonna do?? store it, you can't trick your body, yea u might lose a lil weight but more of what u eat will be stored as fat cause ur body thinks its starving.........but if u eat and eat often u won't sotre body fat as much......HOWEVER THAT don't mean eat a bunch of crap you r what you eat reamember that.........so if u excercise do some cardio watch what u eat, i promise u willl see results-------------- ---andrew.......adversity causes some to break, but others to break records! marisa160, stop with the negative comments about yourself. it doesn't help you in anyway. try thinking postive things like I love my body, that is why I am taking steps to make it healthy. It takes hard work and beating yourself up everyday is going to make it harder. reward yourself when you do something postive, like eating right or working out. the positive energy will feed your healthy body.

You want to raise your metabolism. By doing so you can eat the same amount or more and burn more calories in the process. You raise metabolism by eating more often and by exercise. Eat small meals 5-6 times per day. Think a protein source, salad, fruit, or something similar. Engage in exercise (weights and cardio) on a consistent basis (3-5 times per week). Look in the diet and nutrition section for a post entitled 'bodybuilders grocery list' by bb1 fit. Good list of foods to choose from. Search the message boards for related topics, ask specific questions that you might have, put it to use.

Hey marisa, I feel your pain. I know it's hard sometimes to be happy with ourselves when there is so much pressure to have the "perfect body". But what is the "perfect body"? I think that being healthy and happy is the most important. But it is good to try and do something if you're unhappy with the shape of your body. Since I am farely new here, the only advice I can give right now is stay positive and keep at it!!! Nothing of value is instant. And have fun!! :)

I agree - how much are you eating at a time? are you weighting the meat to see if it is one serving (usually 3 to 4 oz) & what vegetables are you eating?? how are you cooking them? (please don't say fried) how often do you eat out??-------------- Reddy All people smile in the same language |

You really have to stop with the negative attitude. It is not healthy at all. Your mind, body, and spirit must be balanced. I don't think you all that over weight. Accept the fact that you are probably more muscular than most. Some are wishing they were your size as I type this. I don't know if an experience has trigured this attitude; hoever, you might seek couseling to help with your self-esteem.
