Hi I have been trying to loose weight since the birth of my first son back in March 2000. I have been on different diets and tried different Diet supplement pills but nothing seems to work. I can take the does recommended and still be hungry and eat just as much as I did before I started taking the pills. I wasnt a big exerciser which was one of the reason I knew I wasnt losing weight. And also drank a lot of soda and ate out a lot. But recently I have been exercising and trying to eat good, with as little soda as possible. I do the exercises that the free trainers site offers. I also have been taking the TRIMSPA diet pills. But havent seen any change and even after i take the pills i am still hungry and can eat the same amount as before. I know I am not losing weight how long will it take and what am i doing wrong? What else do I need to do? I would really appreciate the help.

Welcome to ft. It sounds as if you are off to a good start by following the recommended exercise program. I don't know anything about the diet pills. The key to weight loss is to raise your meatbolism so that you burn more calories. For example if your BMR is 1750 calories per day and you take in 1850 per day you are left with a surplus of 100 calories which is stored as fat. On the other hand if you increase your BMR to 1950 and you consume the same amount of food you have a deficit of 100 calories which will be taken from fat stored in the body. If you try to lose weight by limiting calories to much you end up lowering your metabolism. As you can see that is not what you want. How to raise metabolism? Exercise (weights and cardio), Clean diet (divided 5-6 times per day). Search this site for those topics, ask any specific questions that you have, exercise patience and consistency. It will take some time but it can be done. Also stop focusing on your body weight. Go by the way your clothes fit and how you feel. Get you a camera and take some pictures of yourself for future comparison. You will be able to 'see' the changes regardless of what the scale says.

Supplementing your diet is key in gaining weight and muscle.
Replacement is key in losing weight.
What I mean is that replace the empty calories of a devils food cake (which won't even fill you up) with a yogurt or soup (which have less calories and will fill you up better than desert). Also, soda is a big no-no. Look under nutritional information and see how many calories just one glass of soda. Surprised? Now multiply this by the number of glasses you have a day. That how many calories you could eliminate a day by giving up your usual soda. What do I replace it with? Water, the drink of champions. Number of calories- 0. And it will fill you up just as good as any soda.
