Hello, I'm 16 years old, and i recently started working out. I want to be able to become healthier and more fit from my current state. But i have a few questions that remain unanswered. For protein shakes, when should they be taken and how many times a day, and are they in any way detrimental to your health? And what foods are good to mix with the shakes.. i hear mixing bananas and such are bad for they slow down the digestion process is this true? Should shakes be taken b4 and after workout? If i dont take a shake b4 wat kind of foods should i eat prior to the workout. lol and lastly.. how long should one spend at the gym training, if im trying to build. Like how many exercises/sets per muscle group? three to many? 4? or 2. thanks for the help

Johny, First fill out your profile it will help us help you. Also use the free trainers menu to design a program for your self. I typically wake up take my daily dose of vitamins then have to egg whites,2 pieces of wheat toast and some oj.Then I go to gym and work out, Right after I work out I eat a protein 8 bar. After I get home and clean up then I have my protein shake. I am still getting into training and proper nutrition my self. One of the moderators or the more experienced members will help you more. Good luck - Mike

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
