Hi, currently I'm taking creatine, glutamine, a multi-vitamin, and whey protein.
I'm working on gaining significant muscle mass while also working at losing fat. Is there any other supplements that would be beneficial?
I've being working out consistantly for a while now, 4 times a week, I just want to make sure I'm getting the best results possible.

I am taking the same things. well minus the creatine,Some antioxidants are good too vitamin e, and vitamin c. What Kind of whey are you using. I am using the GNC mega whey and eating protein 8 bars after work outs. My goals are the same lossing alot of fat and building muscle mass.

I'm using the GNC pro performance 100% whey. Thanks for the advice on the vitamins, I'm gonna research that a bit more

Your major vitamins/antioxidants should be Vit. C, B-complex, and Vit. E and throw in some calcium(make sure it has Vit. D and magnesium for absorbtion. These are essential for good health and even moreso for a hard training athelete.

Now, as far as supplements for gaining weight, you are fine with what you have. Contrary to the selling hype, none will put mass on you. It is an excess of calories that will put the mass on you. You must take in a surplus of food to force your body to build muscle. It is something your body does not want to do, it is extra maintenance for it to have to maintain extra muscle mass. So, look to your diet, train hard, increase your calories above maintenance level(the cleaner you keep the calories, the more you will limit any accompanying fat gain), and get plenty of rest. This will result in lean tissue gains. Supplements are but 5% if that much of what we do, the other 95% or better is accomplished through diet, rest and hard training.

but wouldn't the whey supplements also be partly considered as part of your diet? I know that nothing beats real food, but whey protein is added calories, correct?

Do you mean the creatine, l-glutamine, and multi-vitamin don't directly affect gaining mass? I'm also taking the same supplements as well.

Yes, the whey supplement can be considered part of your diet. Nothing does beat real food I just dont have the time to prepare enough protein rich food. The glutamine and creatine help with recovery so I guess they help to build mass. Multi vitamins are just for sound nutriional support.

i would take the shakes with food, and between meals(but i beleive they work better when the body is busy digesting real food)otherwise they kinda sit there.
