Hi

I am just wondering how much cardio I should be doing per week if I want to loose a few kilos.

I train with weights for about 1 hr 3-4 x per week & my diet is ok, but it could be better, especially lately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Ang

They say you should vary your cardio workouts. Change your schedule every week. Your body attempts to learn the pattern of the workouts and if successful, can store fat in places. Leave your body guessing.

yeah... also, you could be doing your cardio on your off days... some people do them within hours after they lift, but i find it more effective if i do it on my off days... try and see what works best for you... but 3-4 times a week for cardio sounds good...

light cardio before and after a work out is good. I find it helps to keep the blood flowing into the muscles and helps to stretch out. On off days 20-30 minutes is good for keeping the cardiovascular system working good. Good Luck Mike. hey pimple bust out a worm for us lol

nah, i don't really like doing the worm... it looks funny, though, so i just do them when i battle a sloppy cocky bboy... but it kills the nuts so i just stick to less painful moves...

I think you answered your own question. The answer is not always more exercise, it is in your diet. Look at your own statement, "my diet is ok, but it could be better". This is your answer. You have to create a caloric deficit to tap into your fat stores. True, more exercise will burn more calories, but in unison with correct diet, you will see your results.(how much exercise do you want to do? If you employ too much, at first it will be ok because you are gung ho, but after a while, it becomes like a job and you can't keep up with it, and end up overtrained. Besides, you will most likely be burning you best friend in the fight against fat, muscle, rather than fat with too much cardio, and your metabolism will just slow to compensate).

thanks for all the advice

about doing cardio on off days: i thought that it was best to do your cardio after doing weights to burn fat?

bb1fit: i guess I was just hoping u wouldnt say that! I will try to develop an eating plan that is calorie deficient that I can stick too- any help on that would be great!!
