I'm new to posting, however, I have cruised this website for quite sometime always reading what others have to say about what works, and what does not. So, I debated, and decieded to register and post what I have found for my body type to be a working program, and to say a general thanks to all of those who have helped me and don't know it.
I'm 22, 69 inches tall and weighed only around 142. I am pretty thin. When school started in August, I started aggresivly working out, I had found motivation which I have kept with a passion (I've learned that motivation is key, more important than anything else.) Every *body* is different and requires something that may or may not work for another. (again, thanks to the posters here, I have conglomerated these finding of what does and doesn't work over time) But, it seems people of my build have a lot harder time with trying to put on the mass than others do. Some argue that genetic play an inevitable role, I agree, up to a point. My will power takes over that genetic role. I found, for someone of my build, that by doing 8 sets of the weight I can do the maximum of 8-10 reps of 2 to 3 times a week, I am gaining the most mass. Of course that is not all I am doing. During the excersise, I flex my muscle as hard as I can for 1 - 2 seconds, then lower the weight slowly. I am taking only one supplement, that is Whey protein, I also try to consume at LEAST 100 grams of protien a day, and get at LEAST 8 hours of sleep, and drinks lots of water. Since I started in August, to this date, I am now 10 lbs heavier, and definitly have noticed the gains. (Especially when I put on shirts my arms barly fit into now, cool feeling)
I just wanted to say thanks again for all the help, and if someone of my build believes it can't be done, have patience (and motivation), and maybe the program I just offered can indeed help you. I figure at my current rate of gains, by the end of this year I will be at around 165 by the end of this year. Thanks again!

Buddy...you need AT LEAST 142 grams of protein a day for the gains you want.

Unless, of course, he is happy with what he is getting now. He may need to remember this when he hits that inevitable platteu (sic).

Yeah, I realize you are supposed to get 1 - 1.5 grams of protien to 1 lb of body weight. I try very hard to do that, I never dip below 100 grams a day, sometimes I do however reach the necissary amount.
I also fear that dreaded platteu, however far I am from it, (or near), I don't look forward to it. I have seriously been thinking of Creatine, Sunday, I'm debating weather to start that, I think I could accelerate gains by using that.

Agamble you the man, but I disagree that the protein intake should be 1-1.5grams only when hitting a plateu. I use it just for maintenance alone. Fox, I know its tough to hit that mark everyday, but who said nutrition was easy?

Yeah, it's not easy, more expensive than easy, but I'm trying. Most importantly, I'm getting results that are easy to see.
