I was born pretty confused. Then I had a relapse. Thats my excuse. Reading the questions here its obvious that I am not alone.
I read about protein shakes my first month here, and bought a good all purpose whey shake bcause getting the 250-300 grams per day was not possible with food. Then upon further reading learned that whey must be taken post workout with water for best results.
Sometime later I learned that the whey supplement was no good for AM PM use because the whey is too quickly absorbed.
Cool, I bought this stuff for that.d out that I dont want the sugar in this so I bought this
25% Egg White Protein
25% Ion Exchange Whey Isolate
25% Milk Isolate
20% Maltodextrin
5% Glutamine Peptide
$6.42 per pound
Found out that I dont want the sugar in this so I bought this
40% Micellar Casein
30% Milk Isolate
20% CFM whey isolate, ceramic filtered microfiltered whey isolate
10% L-Glutamine
$8.59 per pound
I added oatmeal and egg whites and viola, the perfect quick breakfast. Not really, there are MRPs everyone tells me. What the hell is an MRP???? Why its a meal replacement. Its balanced , protien and carb perfected and just what you need. I read the labels and most are loaded with ...you guessed it.. whey. Ok, lets pretend Charlie is one of those lil ducks that changes direction in the shooting galleries. Blam...lol, Blam lol, blam lol... Any body feel my pain??
A few days ago I asked my doctor about creatine...he said go for it. I looked around the FT sponsers website and realized I didnt know what confusion was. There are capsules, monohydrates, hsc's, extremes, eas, ids'
micronized,fsi....get the picture?
Much has been written on these subjects. I have tried to read it all.
1 I would like to know if the foumula that I am using together with 1 cup of oatmeal and 4 egg whites is a decent MRP or am I wasting my money.
2 If I need to switch to a MRP, do I need to add things to it.
3 Which creatine should a 50 year old man who is trying to gradually lose body fat need.
4 What other questions should I ask??
Thanks all.

Charlie, hopefully I can point you the right direction. For more info. on all of your questions, go to www.netrition.com. At the top search field, type "meal replacement." The page will explain. To answer your question about protein powders, again from the home page, click on "protein powders." That page will also explain.
As far as creatine, the best way for it to work on most individuals is through an insulin spike. Some forms come in pre-mixed with other stuff like alpha lipoic acid (i.e. Cell-Tech). The cheapest is regular creatine monohydrate powder (looks like plain old white powder). Of course, you should mix it with grape juice (insulin spike). If you choose this route, just look for the Creapure stamp (this is by far the purest creatine powder on the market).
Hope this helps...if not, e-mail me.
