How much protein does one need to consume in a day? I am mainly looking to lose weight (total body fat) while trying to build some muscle mass. I am not looking to hulk up right now at this point but I do know that protein is good for maintaining and building muscle mass.

1 to 1.5 grams per pound of body weight is good.

and make sure you drink your water! the rule of thumb is that you should drink water until you pee through every orphace in your body...
