Hey,
Is it normal for a 31-year-old man (yours truly) to not really need a girlfriend? I hear the occasional war drums of passion beating and I get a hankerin' for a lovely lady and a 2 or 3 week cliff's notes relationship. Is that so wrong? And are there women in the world that feel the same? And if there aren't any women that feel that way, what's a guy to do?

Well to use my photo as a analogy; there are usually two types of people: the lone wolf and wolf packs. Nothing is wrong with either one.
After my first marriage ended after ten years(age 18-28), the last thing I wanted was a long term relationship but after another ten years of bachelorhood, when the right one came along I was open and ready for another kick at the can (metaphorically speaking!).
One question for you Ogun... have you ever been in a long term relationship?
If so, how did it end?

Ogun - If I remember your story correctly, you have been seriously burned in your last relationship. No wonder you feel this way - perfectly normal. Once bitten, twice shy. As long as the ladies you are dating know that you aren't interested in anything long term at the moment,so they don't get hurt, I don't think that there is anything wrong with that.

Nope...nothing wrong with that at all!

Yes I Am Azon, I did get burned. But I've pretty much discharged all of that anger, and I have no fear short of my child getting hurt. I truly feel as though I just don't need anybody, and that the effort, pains, and conspiracies of everyday couple life will never be worth it for me again. I don't disagree with any of you, and as scary as it sounds, I find your words to be the ULTIMATE compliments, Charlie and agamble! Me?! Normal!! Frikken A!!
