Hey everybody, anybody have any good, quick, first meal of the day solutions? It's been hard enough for me to even start eating first thing in the morning, let alone spending any time in the kitchen getting something ready. Is there anything I can whip up the night before and just re-heat? My job forces me to travel almost every day, and anything high in protein and portable would be the perfect fit.

Hmm,try making home-made oatmeal....before bed put all the oats..dried fruits..etc into a bowl and in the morning just pour some milk over it, pop it in the microwave for a few minutes, and whala! got breakfast. Perhaps slicing a banana or fresh fruit of any kind into it ups the nutrition value. Or also try making a smoothie with jogurt and fruit....any kind that you like...all it takes is throwing a few things into a blender and you got an instant b-fast. These are just my suggestions and things that work for me on those hectic mornings.

Eggs man. If you have an electric frying pan you can make eggs in less then 4 minutes.
Heat up the pan, add cooking spray. Mix eggs into a bowl (how ever many you need). Pour eggs into the pan once done mixing (the pan should be hot enough). Spread eggs out across the pan thinly so they cook evenly and quickly (just pick up the pan and move the eggs around). Wait for a minute and your done. I like to roll the egg up after its cooked, so it takes less space on my plate.

- If your hungry all the time, your not eating enough. And anyways, being hungry sucks.

Or try mini quiches (from the south beach diet) you can pre make them and either eat them cold or rehaet them in the microwave. I will look for the recipe and paste it in....
Also, if you have a slow cooker (crockpot) you can put your oats and stuff in it in the evening and let it cook on low overnight.
Low carb tortillas and scrambled eggs with lowfat cheese makes a quick breakfast.
Protein shakes are the fastest, either in the blender or in a shaker.
Peanut butter on whole grain toast is good.
An apple, some lowfat cheese and some sliced luncheon meat (wrap the cheese and meat in a low-carb tortilla or have them on whole grain bread).
Breakfast doesn't have to be breakfast food. Eat what is easy and portable for you , as long as it fits into your healthy eating plan.

I normally have some scrambled egg whites (you can buy them in a milk carton) with half a grapefruit and a slice ofwhole wheat bread with peanut butter instead of butter and margirine and sometimes a cup of oatmeal (microwaved) sweetened with some honey. Takes me ten minutes with cleanup.

Thanks everyone, (especially a simmer!), these are all great ideas. As I wake up ina hotel about 25% of the time, shakes and oatmeal fit the bill perfectly!

I will take 1 full egg, and add about 125ml of Egg whites, put it in a bowl (might want to put some Oil oil or something to coat the bowl) and pop it in the microwave for 2 min. Then toast up a Whole wheat or Multi grain Bagel, and Voila..quick and Dirty Meal with lots of complex Carbs and protien ;)
