My boyfriend started lifting weights a few months ago. He is noticing that his left arm is getting a lot bigger than his right arm. He is right handed..any suggestions for evening out?

Welocme Lisa!!! Well your b/f might be training on his left hand more than his right arm. Thats what i did when i started because my left arm was way smaller. That was a big mistake thought. Your b/f should just keep on training evenly on both arms!!!

I have a similar problem. I found that my left arm gained more definition than my right - I am right handed too. The issue may be that since he is right handed, the workouts are straining the left arm more than the right, therefore creating a different appearence in the arms. When I noticed this, I began measuring my forearms, bic, and tris to see what was really going on. This should balance out if he is working both arms the same.Hope this helps.

having uneven arms is quite normal to people when they first start lifting weights... it'll eventually go away... try to replace dumbell curls with barbell culrs, and whatever other dubell movements that can be done with barbells... that should help you... good luck

trick I found out( mine are about 1/2in apart) that you need to concentrate on both arms through out whatever excercise whom ever is doing. Most habits are to put lots of weight on, and get it up however humanly possible. THis is not a good idea. One bad form, and two you can hurt yourself and your gains. Do managable weight that you can do with good form, ( on both sides). I actually try to concentrate on the weaker arm so it has to do more the work, and when it poops out the strong arm can "spot it" a lil bit. Still keep focas through out the lift .
