I was sitting here at work feeling rather crabby
1) because it is Valentines Day this weekend and my hubby is still in Iraq, as most of you know 2) because I not only hurt my neck at the gym last night, but my right rotator is achy also. (Time to baby it, I know the drill) when what do you know? A big box of long stemmed pink roses arrived for me, with a very nice card from my hubby. TY honey. So I was wondering what everyone else is giving, or getting, or doing to celebrate. Our church is having a dinner tomorrow evening for others like me who have no plans. My son and I will be going to that. Anyone else? -------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

I'm going to buy a good bird dog, set up in the Chesapeake Bay Marsh, and see if I can't nab me a Cupid or two. They look plump and tasty.

I am going to be doing medical research with my husband to find out whats wrong with his back(I posted in the injuries forum, male forum, and general health forum) and then will probably be going to the emergancy room. Woo Hoo for Valentines Day. To top it off it is our first Valentines as husband and wife. What a way to sear our first into my brain.

My husband just told me he took the day off work tomorrow & has a sitter for the kids. He won't tell me what he has planned. I can't wait. We are celebrating tomorrow instead of Saturday.

Definite congrats to CristalBelle and Cobra. Even if you arent doing anything exciting or expensive, Cristal, being together is what is important. Through thick and thin, ya know. Hope you guys get that taken care of. It must be scary for you. Thanks bb1, he is getting the hang of it I think. <wink>-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

azred, you are right. When I wrote that yesterday I was in a state of shock and scared out of my mind. I am more collected now, and know that no matter what having my husband by my side is all that is important. Life throws us major curve balls sometimes, but if we stick together and share the pain, it wont be as bad for either of us. I want to say Happy Valentines day to all of you, and hope that even if you don't have that special someone, that you know that someone somewhere cares about you, and all you have to do is look here on FT to prove it!

MZ! I am making Cornish hens, too. :)
We decided to have dinner at home since the crowds are so bad on Valentine's Day, plus I'm a good cook. :) |

I'll be at the Bob Marley Festival for most of the day then, hit a bar with my best friends since we're all single these days.

I am going to work as always, Valentines day is a bogus holliday trumped up by the greeting card industry to increase revenue. lol - Mike

Yo AZ!
Me and Mrs. TSMD are gonna spend a quiet day at home. We'll probably do Rock/Paper/Scissors to see who cooks... and then, of course, I'll cave and let her win. Hang in there and be strong, AZ! TSMD |

It has been said that when two people are married all of life's joys are doubled and all of life's sorrows are halved. After 19 years of marriage, I tend to agree. My wife and I just returned from an early Valentines Day getaway in the mountains. Had a wonderful time!

It's Valentines night 6:30pm, I am on the computer, my kids are on the floor next to me watching Sponge Bob Squarepants and my wife's cooking a nice dinner. Not the most romantic...but the families together.

Hubby even managed to get to a phone and call me on Sunday. Between the flowers and the phone call it wasnt too bad. We still agree we dont ever want to spend all these holidays apart again. I hope all of you had great weekends, spent with the ones you love.-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

I am glad that you liked the flowers my love. And it was so wonderful to talk with you on the phone. It is so nice to actually hear your voice. I hope that we never have to go though this again, being away from each other for this long. Only 39 more days, and I'll be home with you. If only for a couple of weeks. It will be a wonderful time, I know. I love and miss you so very much.
