Not quite sure I understand the second part of your question, but for the first part, try to do as many reps as indicated on the work out sheet... if you can do more, great, or maybe try adding some weight to make it more challenging.... it depends what you are after... some people do heavy weight, low reps and other do low weight and high reps...
