Hi. I cannot perform 2 of the exercises listed in my first week...push ups and one that requires a movement I'm not comfortable with because of my coordination and weight distribution. Can I delete these exercises and get substitutes? I'd appreciate any response.

What is it about the push-ups that you are uncomfortable with? Have you tried them with your legs resting on the floor as opposed to up on your toes? Also, as a substitute, you can use a bench press machine if you have access (seated). With a little more specifics, we might be able to help out more. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. I don't like push ups because I don't think my arms are strong enough to support the weight of my mid section and breasts for very many repetitions. The other exercise I'd like to find a replacement for is called Dips behind the back. I'd like to work those muscles (chest? shoulders? back?) without relying on my arms to support my body in that position. I do not have access to a gym at this time. Can anyone suggest alternate exercises using hand weights as resistence until my arms are a little stronger(and midsection smaller)? Also I'll try the legs resting for as many as I can. If I had a move with hand weights I could definitley finish more repetitions. Thanks.

That's better! Yes, do push-ups with your mid section and legs lying on the floor, so you are just lifting your upper torso. As for the dips, trust me, they are killers at any level! So don't feel bad! Try doing them with a bench, chair, whatever, with your feet on the floor in front of you, keep your legs straight, (you should be kind of on an incline) and your arms behind, palms on the surface, let yourself down and push back up. It's mainly your triceps you are working here. Keep at at! Soon you'll be doing the full range of motion exercises!
