Hey everybody. In another thread someone mentioned that a routine should start out lighter and get heavier with each set. What I have been doing is using a weight that I'm sure that I can do 16 reps through 8 reps for four sets. So, have I been doing it wrong the whole time?

For instance straight leg dead lifts of 80 pounds for 16, 12, 10, and 8 reps.

I think your not soposed to use the same weight( i don't use the workouts here), but go up a lil bit.......16x80 12x85 10x90 8x95 somthing like that, I think if that the question your asking.

Thanks guys. That's what I did today and it does make a difference in how you feel when an exercise is over. Today was shoulder and ab day and I'm still just a little shaky.

You should always, always strive to increase your weights or reps at the very least with the same weight. If you can do this, you can go up in weight. Our goal is to push the muscle beyond its normal capability, so it will have to get stronger and bigger to accomodate the new loads.
