Hi everyone!
I am new to ft and I just started the South Beach diet. I need some encouragement though because I am having trouble staying away from those nasty carbs! :) Any motivation and/or success stories would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Howdy WT,
The ;motivation will be the loose clothing you will have to replace. Along with that is the clean feel within your body now that you dont put that other stuff into it. There are so many things that make losing weight/working out for tone and energy worth every single veg/chicken/turkey/fish/lean meats you begin eating. There are six of us eating the SBD meal plan. ITS GREAT. Everyones lost the weight they mentioned at the beginning of the book. But its really more than that. The change in the body the way the cravings begin to disappear (and you feel so much better) is giving hope that after the final weight loss we will all have learned a better way of enjoying our meals. Evenually you'll get to eat many of the things you enjoy just in a better meal and you will feel GREAT look GREAT and be healthy. Good Luck and remember if you slip go back to the beginning :)

What is the SBD meal? And I've heard alot of bad things about NO CARBS diet. And after reading about how our muscles use Carbs for Energy, and if we don't have enought, it uses protiens, so actually we would be losing muscle not fat , correct? I am so confused!!

Oh I forgot to mention, what about Diabects? They have to have carbs. Well a family member of mine does anyway. She needs 45-60 per meal and a couple snacks to keep her blood sugar level up? was just wondering

Personally I dont think carbs are 'nasty' so I wouldn't be the best one for advice. =)
But follow what works for you! =)
Good luck!
