I'm more of a 'lurker' on this site than a regular poster - but I thought I'd give encouragement to any of you who are new. I'm one of those that has always had problems gaining weight. When I started working out - Dec1 2003 I was 123 lbs at 5'9" (27yo Male). Skinny was the udnerstatement. For years I've tried to gain weight and get in shape - but never could.
So finaly I bit the bullet - read up on nutrition - and got some help - in the form of a friend who'd been begging to teach me how to work out propperly for 3 years.
Since then - I've gone from 123# to 135# - maintaining about the same body fat ratio. The suprise came when I looked at my old workout records of what I lifted. Started curl at 17.5/4 - now am at 30/4. Leg Lifts at 45/4 - 105/4 (Per Leg - Isolated). Bench went from 85/4 to 115/8. So - I'm feeling very good about it. Just remember - do it right - and you'll see results - if you do it wrong like I always did before you wont see results.
Good job Ryan!!! I also have had the problem gaining weight and keeping it on, but I have been adjusting my diet and routines and have been getting better results.
Welcome and keep up the good work.
-------------- I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
