There is no such thing a fast!! once you get beyond that mentality hard work over time will get you where you want to go. Also fill out your profile and set up a FT program for yourself. Good Luck - Mike

I was under the Understanding that Young people, under 18 should not start into weight training, at least not the way we do, as their Bodies are not fully developed yet. Is this wrong?

It ok to work out, just don't power lift..........machines are ok i'd think, i've seen and read many therory's that go both ways, bad and good. Your 13 man don't do somthing you'll regreat later in life, ya you migh tbe 10lbs heavier but later in life you'll be the same height. I started working out in high school. Don't do any reps lower than 10, you should go very very light. Better be safe than sorry i'd say.

as speeder said you can't gain muscle in a few weeks and be all big and bad. If you look at body builders: rony coleman, lee priest, all them they have one thing in common. There have been traing for 10+ years. Noahs ark wasn't built in a day

Your 13...you have a lifetime ahead of you to build muscle. Another thing, you gain your main muscle mass around age 22-25... and ur muscles become more and more fully developed after the age of 18. At your age, you will get only as big as is right for your body. So dont be discouraged if after a certain point your body size remains the same (at age 13).
Also, if your worried about your height and weight training, take up basketball or volleyball. Sports such as these 2 stimulate growth in height.

I'm 16, and have worked out HARD over the past two summers, and plan to this summer as well. I've still grown from 5-9 two years ago to 6-2 now. So it's not going to stunt your growth or anything...at least it didn't mine. If you don't do any weight training, you're just going to be lanky, and you don't want that. I say go for it...get lots of carbs and protein. It worked for me.

if you want your body to grow in both directions make sure you get your diet right - you will need lots of calories. Look at bb1s grocery list for a body builder in the diet/nutrition section.

plenty of cardio...exercise, good diet..
2005/05/08, 08:13 AM
3500calories/lb*30lb=105,000 calories needed to lose

calculate how many days you have to lose weight.....may, jun, july....to be done by August 1st...about 83 days

105,000/83=1265.....this is by how much you'll need to reduce your daily caloric intake{daily caloric deficit}(through nutrition and cardio, as well as weight lifting)....which is a huge amount and I don't suggest you do that...this is a goal better done over a year...

105,000/365~=288 calories....very reasonable...this by how much you need to reduce daily if you were too do it over a year...

remember that if you lose weight too quickly you may get saggy skin....skin's elasticity is limited...so if weight loss is done too fast ....and you'll have significant excess skin ....then you'll probably will need a cosmetic sugery to fix it....so be careful....

Im 15 and i started seriously training since january(before that i only did arms and chest......what a waste of time!). The problem is im only 126 lbs, but i can bench 40 lbs more than my body weight, thats 165lbs! Im extremly ripped, which means that u can see very muscle on my body, inner chest, outter chest, 8 pack, side delts, front delts, rear delts, everything. EXCEPT IM ONLY 125lbs! I hate it when people call me small and weak, but then start wooing over me after i workout. How can i get bigger? More protein? More calories? O yea i heard from people that weightlifting stunts your growth, is that true? Because i do everything deadlifts, squats, bench, military presses, clean and jerk, everything. But if that stunts your growth ill stop immeadiatly. And is it ok to start bodybuilding at age 15? Because i really wanna be a bodybuilder.

The myth of stunting growth and weight lifting. Almost everyone who weight lifted at a young age never stunted their growth, damn for example, shaquille o neal worked out when he was like 12 or 13 and now is like 8 ft, lol. Honestly, I am 5/11 and I hardly doubt I will stop growing, the main thing that I have noticed from weight lifting is that my bones have gotten bigger and stronger, I think weight lifting could even make you taller because actually weight training actually puts tension on your bones which makes it bigger and stronger.

Don't worry about it, except to be safe don't lift over your head.

Use good form and never quit, Patience is the key to bodybuilding!!!

Peace out.

Eat,Eat,Eat that’s all you need to do don’t eat rubbish eat high protein foods after your workouts and before eat high carbs half hour before and after drink a lot of milk and water and anything else healthy. And also don't give up on the training just because you haven’t seen any results yet doesn’t mean you wont in the future believe me good luck. :)
