That would be me. I am back from our cruise. As many of you know , you eat on cruises. The food is free, plentiful varied and delicious.
Some of you know I don't drink. Some more of you know I quit smokin about 2 months ago. That only leaves me food and sex.Gentlemen leave sex in the bedroom so I'll tell you about my eating. For the last 6 months I have strictly eaten from BB1's "grocery list for body builders." I have counted calories religiously. I have faithfully done my workouts, both weights and cardio. I have made gains and losses in the correct places. Well, for 1 week in February, I engaged in an orgy of eating. I had my usual six meals a day on this cruise. I had 4 eggs and 6 link sausages with pancakes for breakfast. At 10:30 A.M. I hit the Fruit bar. At noon, 3 or 4 pieces of pizza, a burger, wild rice and burrito burger mix was the indulgence. I followed that with ice cream topped with chocolate and/or butterscotch sauce chased with at least 4 cookies. At 3:30 I went to the shipboard gym and lifted for an hour and then had another burger in my room. Dinner started at 8 and was usually 7 course. All at my table were serious cruisers and we all ate at least 3 desserts. At midnight there is a buffet and you basically repeat the process. I gained 8 pounds. I loved it. I feel absolutly no shame. I didn't smoke or drink. I start back to my sane lifestyle of lean meat , fish, complex carps and protein shakes on Monday. The massuse inquired anout my "normal" diet because she said she didn't see many geezers who were so solid She placed my BF at 15% on day with an electronic gizmo. I don't want to know what it is now. I don't care . I am very full, happy and back in training. Mutt and Rev8ball, I thought of you 2 a couple of times. You guys would love cruising. -------------- Some times life is like herding cats. Charlie

An orgy of food.... mmmmmm.... I was at a dinner last night, nothing quite like your cruise Charlie, but still felt obligated to have the bread and raisin pudding.. after watching the food intake for a week... I felt it was going to do no harm! It's good for the mental fitness to do that too!

Glad to have you back Charlie, and it is cool you feel no "remorse" about your eating. You well shouldn't, we all need to do those things, and vacations should definitely be enjoyment times. If you have no contests or anything of the such, there is absloutely no reason you should not indulge periodically. It keeps sanity under control, and you have enough drive to get right back in the saddle when it is over and do what you have to do. Glad you had a great time! It can be healthy and refreshing.:)-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... |

I was happy week before last with the 400 lb squat record but I was tickled by my tablemates reaction as the sheer volume of food I packed away. Nobody got in the way of my fork. I wanted to tell them I ate every day like that but Elaine wouldn't let me. -------------- Some times life is like herding cats. Charlie

Hec my brother in arms. I want you to know I stood on the fantail of the ship and saluted those poor dumb grunts in Gitmo........right after I mooned 'em. I sang the Marines Hymn and Anchors Aweigh with my pants around my knees and then security suggested I go to my cabin and dress for dinner. What a week buddy. Charlie,
I did much the same..seems we're living parallel lives, only I never had the pleasure of a masueuse and my trip was an over indulgent business foray into Africa and not a cruise for pleasure, although that is how it ended up And I never did travel with my wife so any tender pleasure were left at home.... I felt so disgusted with myself, even though I've not smoked for 97 days (who's counting anyway?) and eaten to the detail of my plan. I went straight to the gym, galloped an eye popping five miles, up hills, round bends, sprints through straights type wrok-out before clambering onto the benches for a series of lifts, lunges pulls and pushes to my max poundage. Only to get up from the barbell and feel my back blow! I crawled out the gym and have bee doubled over for the past week...... Never again am I going to stray, never, I'm back on track, feed wise, and now can't wait to be healthy and strong again. Cheers, Warren |

Charlie, sounds like you had a blast. I am hoping to get my husband on a cruise before we start a family... and hopefully while (or when) I look good in a two-piece.
Orgy of food... hm. Sounds fun. Nice to see you back though, I kinda wondered what happened to ya.:) -------------- The average dog is nicer than the average person. -Andy Rooney |

After 4 days back on my normal diet 5 of the 8 lbs I gained have come off. Maybe it was water weight gain. Whatever it was it seems glutony pounds are short term. Definitly worth the price of eating. -------------- Some times life is like herding cats. Charlie

Did you stand at the front of the ship and yell "I'm the king of the world!" like Leo did in Titanic? If not, why?
